Welcome to AdventurAus Australian Shepherds! We are a small kennel based in suburban Brisbane, dedicated to breeding and raising healthy, well-tempered, and beautiful registered purebred Australian Shepherd puppies.

Our primary focus is on the health and well-being of our dogs and puppies. We take great care in selecting breeding pairs that will produce offspring with strong genetic traits. All of our breeding dogs are fully health checked, including DNA testing for known heritable diseases, have their eyes checked regularly, and have their hips evaluated to ensure that they are fit for breeding.

We also place a strong emphasis on temperament, ensuring that our puppies are well-socialized and ready to join loving families. In addition, we strive to produce puppies that are true to their breed standard in terms of type and conformation.

Question. Do you health test appropriately (eg hip and elbow X-ray scoring, DNA testing), and understand the genetic issues that may affect your breed? Do you have sensible, sustainable breeding strategies in place to promote the health of your dogs and puppies?

Very careful attention is paid to selecting the best breeding stock, providing nutrition and exercise, mental stimulation and fulfilment.

Question. Do you ensure that your puppies are properly socialised?

Yes

Puppies are provided with an enriched whelping area, we perform ENS (early neurological stimulation) exercise protocols as developed by the US Navy to build resilience, we expose puppies to different sounds and sights, a variety of people and some adult dogs and we begin very early basic manners and toilet training. We believe that our extensive program provides our puppies with the best possible start to life and ensures a smoother transition to their new homes.

Question. Do you have any of the following: conditions of sale, health guarantee or warranty, de-sexing agreement, a buyer questionnaire, verbal or personal interview?

We have an application form to gain insight into our prospective puppy buyers, there is a desexing agreement to ensure ethical breeding practices are being upheld, and where possible we like to meet in person.

Question. Is ensuring that your puppies go to the right home a high priority? What type of measures do you take to ensure your dogs and puppies are going to go to loving homes?

There is a fairly detailed questionnaire we ask our puppy buyers to complete to express their interest. Applications are reviewed to identify the best potential homes and a follow up conversation may be required.

I am contactable by all puppy owners to provide feedback, guidance and support where needed.

Any puppies from my kennel have the option of being returned if they are no longer able to be kept, I will assist in the rehoming process to ensure that none of my animals end up in a shelter or with unsuitable owners.
