We breed beautiful Bengal cats and are located on the outskirts of Bairnsdale in East Gippsland, Victoria.

Breeder Questionnaire

Question. Do you health test in accordance with the current standards and recommended guidelines for your breed? Can you demonstrate your knowledge of any required DNA or other health related test results concerning your breed (if applicable).

Yes

I do genetic testing when necessary or make sure I purchase my cats from someone that has done the testing.

Question. Do you ensure that your kittens are appropriately socialised? Please provide details about how you raise your kittens to ensure that their environmental and social needs are met, that they are suitable as pets. And, do you ensure that the new family understands and is equipped to continue this socialisation?

Yes

I spend lots of time with the kittens, playing and handling them to make sure they are social. I also have my other cats socialise with the kittens and my kids handle the kittens regularly too. I keep the kittens in a home environment which has all the comforts of heating, cooling, couch and their own TV.

Question. What written information about the conditions of sale, warranty, and information concerning the care and maintenance of the breed do you provide?

Yes

I interview the person over the phone or in person if possible to ask about their knowledge of the breed and cats in general. I make sure the are well aware of what the breed is like, how active the kittens are and what to expect. I provide ongoing breeder support and they can call anytime for advice after buying my kittens. All my pet kittens are sold desexed.

Question. Is ensuring that your kittens go to the right home a high priority? How do you ensure that the kitten will be a good fit, and be well cared for in its new home? Do you have a verbal or personal interview?

Yes

Lots of talking with the buyers and I give them a kitten pack with information on raising kittens and they get samples of the food and litter I use. I make sure they are well prepared before picking up the kitten.

Question. Do you offer ongoing support? For example: Help with introducing a kitten to other animals; help with any health or behavioural problems that might occur.

Yes

I provide ongoing breeder support and they can call anytime for advice. I keep in contact with many of my kittens families via social media and photos and emails they send.

Question. In the long term, do you assist with re-homing a kitten or cat if for some reason the new family are unable to care for it?

Yes

Yes - I haven’t had to do this yet but I definitely would if it ever occurred.
